Ely, NV - Ward Charcoal OvensA total of 5 ovens operated for just 3 1/2 years, making charcoal for silver smelting. When the silver ran out, the site was abandoned. Eventually it became a Nevada State Park.Jul 25, 2020

Great Blue HeronWe stumbled upon this This Great Blue Heron on our way out of the area. He was not too elusive, but also not so cooperative. Bald Eagle at Skagit WMAThis eagle permitted us to approach his tree, walk directly, well almost directly :), underneath, and camp out for 20+ minutes before he finally took off. He was up 60 feet or so, yielding the bottom-up view. Not the best view, I admint, but beggars can't be choosers.Jul 14, 2020
